Objectives and interests

My long term goal is to contribute to the elucidation of the senescence mechanism in plant organs in order to contribute to the development of technologies that assure the quality and wholesomeness of food supply and more enjoyable ornamentals.
My current research is focused on characterizing the regulation of cell wall disassembly and softening during fruit ripening and as result of chilling injury.

Current research projects

Regulation of cell wall metabolism in ripening fruit.

Pectin metabolism in chill-injured tomato fruit.
